General Integration
There are some potential things which can be done
- Jump lists in Docky according to "Most/Recently used per application"
- Find files that are commonly used together
- Allow the user to find files without knowing the location but just remembering when it what used or what it was used with.
- Sort folders by most used
General Application Integration
- You want to know what else you were doing when you were editing this document or what track you were listening to
- How many times have you opened this document with timestamp and when you closed it. Additionally this for every document.
- When you opened this sticky note, when you renamed it, what was it called before you renamed it
- If you use the full-text-search extension of the daemon then you can actually search even inside the documents.
Empathy and IRC
- Just imagine you want to keep a log of people with whom you had chat with?
- You want to know who pinged you when?
- Want to know who pinged me on IRC between a time duration?
- Want to know when did a specific person ping you in the last x days?
Media
- If Clementine, Banshee, Rhythmbox and all other players which you use can log it's activities, you can actually list down all the tracks you have played including all the media players
- Knowing about your listening habits. Any media players can take the information logged by any media player.
- You can also have a whole "Playing History" and the media players don't have to implement their own. Saves manpower.
Application Usage
- Sorting the most used application
- Integrating this information with Software Center to find your usage of a particular application installed. [Done to some extent]
- Recommendation of new application based on your usage of applications.
